“Always us, but with a great new objective”

The news came during Saturday lunch in Italy.

Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner are not splitting up – they have in fact served notice of their intentions to compete through the new quadrennial, leading to the 2030 Olympic Winter Games in Nice, France.

“Always us, but with a great new objective: 2030” the pair said in the new social media account teammosanerconstantini.

“Over the years we have worked together to build a strong team, based on respect, passion and the will to improve.

“Today more than ever we are ready to play.

“You’ve always supported us and we can’t wait to give you more intense emotions and great satisfactions!”

Intense emotions… that is certainly accurate. Just the other day I wrote about the tumultuous upheavals in Italian curling, citing a local sports journalist:

… today I think it was the final act of a strong duo, but one that I don’t know has ever truly been understood. Two champions, each with their own unique approach to life and the sport.

It’s a shame, but I don’t think we’ll ever see the Constantini/Mosaner duo on the ice again.

But we will. In their four years together they’ve won two Olympic medals and a world title, and they didn’t really play that much in those four years, did they?

The Italian curling smoke is clearing, and all that’s left now is Constantini’s announcement confirming her new women’s team.

Perhaps that will happen soon.

A che ora è la cena?
