Another curling calendar is available to benefit charity, but with fresh twists that celebrate two decades of fundraising excellence.
The 2026 Curling Cares Fundraising Calendar is now on sale at the AMJ Masters Grand Slam in London, Ont. and also online at curlingcares.com.
Curling Cares has raised approximately $900,000 for more than 85 causes and charities in multiple countries since 2009.
The 2026 edition is fundraising for one entity – the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, which is celebrating its 25th year of raising funds to purchase life-saving equipment for premature and critically ill babies across Canada.
The Curling Group, owners of the Grand Slam of Curling series and SSF supporters, are on board to push Curling Cares sales at their championships. The series wraps up in January this season – three months earlier than usual – before the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games.
The TCG-owned Rock League will debut in April.

“2026 is a special year for Curling Cares,” said Rick Warner, president of project co-owner justBcause. “We’ve quadrupled the number of athletes on display in these pages, added nods to the full field of sport stakeholders – including fans, volunteers, the next generation – and we salute the future by acknowledging the past.
“It all started before my time, in the fall of 2005.”
The 2006 Fire On Ice calendar exploded onto the scene 20 years ago. Produced in Europe by Andorran curlers Ana Arce and Andrew Ferguson-Smith and marketed in North America by The Curling News, the giant oversize product featured stylistic black and white images of nude or nearly nude women curlers.
A self-fundraiser for the players and their teams, Fire On Ice attracted mass media coverage across the spectrum of sports and pop culture alike.
A second print run took place in February during the Torino Olympics, after NBC featured the calendar – which crashed the sales portal overnight.
“When you count the European years of the project, over $1 million has already been raised for good causes,” said George Karrys, project co-owner and Editor In Chief of The Curling News.
“It’s been an honour to work with Rick and his team over the past 16 years. We’ve produced the Women of Curling, the Men of Curling, the Spirit of Curling. Now we have this ‘thank you’ edition, really, for our supporters and, of course, the curlers who have stepped forward to make it all possible.”
The current project’s high-water mark came in 2014 with the inaugural Men of Curling Fundraising Calendar, which raised a stunning $120,000.
Over the years, curling athletes who donated their image and made personal sales in tandem with the online portal became members of the Curling Cares Alumni. After last year’s 2025 edition, the group numbers more than 175 in total.
Scotland’s Eve Muirhead, the retired Olympic and world champion skip, made an unprecedented four calendar appearances during her career, raising funds for four different charities.

“I’m proud to be a Curling Cares alumna and I salute the many people who have helped drive this project over the last 20 years,” said Muirhead.
“Curlers and curling fans work hard to promote our sport, and yet we still find time to give generously to causes as well. I hope this fundamental goodness in the curling community will only strengthen in the years to come.”
The 2026 Curling cares Fundraising Calendar sells for $25.00 plus taxes, shipping and handling and is available here.
