Big Olympic Battle in Cortina

Monday is all about the women.

There are two women’s draws at the Cortina Olympic Curing Stadium on Monday (plus a single men’s session) and the first features a potential heavy-medal matchups.

Sheet B at 9:05 a.m. local time sees front-running Sweden (Anna Hasselborg, 5-0) face Switzerland’s Silvana Tirinzoni (3-1) while Canada’s Rachel Homan (1-3) must simply get untracked against China’s Wang Rui (2-2).

Tirinzoni and fourth thrower Alina Paetz have a career 38-27 won/loss record over Hasselborg, and are 12-2 since the 2022-23 season.

The Canadians are in evening action against Japan’s Sayaka Yoshimura (1-4), a team that has played Homan tough this season on the World Curling Tour.

The Swiss will face Great Britain’s Sophie Jackson (1-3) in the evening, while Sweden has the night off.
