Sweeting, Karwacki and the coach are out
Just five days after winning silver at the 2026 world women’s curling championship, Team Canada’s Kerri Einarson is shaking up her team lineup.

“After much consideration, the team will have a new look for the upcoming season as there will be a parting of ways with Val, Krysten and Reid,” read a team statement.

“Her pursuit of excellence has always been evident in her attention to detail, relentless work ethic and her passion for the game. She has been an integral part of the team's success through her tenure.”
Sweeting offered a quote in the statement.
“I’m not sure exactly what the future holds yet,” Sweeting said. “But I look forward to seeing where the next chapter takes me.”
Team Einarson formed in 2018, with four skips combining to create a powerhouse squad. With original lead Briane Harris (nee Meilleur), the foursome won multiple Grand Slam of Curling titles, four Canadian Scotties championship crowns and two world bronze medals.

The squad captured that title in Mississauga, Ont. and lost the world final to Switzerland’s Xenia Schwaller.
“We are so grateful for the continued support from our fans, sponsors and everyone who has been a part of our journey,” the statement added.
