That 2023 Slam run was really something

Italy’s most prominent curling team – arguably ever – have called it quits, bringing the curtain down on a decade-long run.

“After many years spent together, filled with dedication, growth, and important achievements, the players of Team Retornaz have decided to part ways at the end of this season,” a team statement reads. In 2023 • Anil Mungal-The Curling Group

The social media posting mentions that veteran Retornaz, Amos Mosaner, Sebastiano Arman and Mattia Giovanella “will explore new opportunities for their future.”

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our families, staff, sponsors and everyone who has supported us throughout this extraordinary journey.”

The heyday of Team Retornaz came in the fall of 2023, when the squad won a stunning three Grand Slam titles in a row to start the season.
