Behind “The Battle” Curling Scenes

For the second episode of Season 12 – you can catch up on the first episode here – Lori and Mary recorded together, this time with Mary hosting. In addition, Mary has a new addition to her family and if you listen carefully, you may be able to hear her throughout the show.

G1 brought G2 her own advanced copy of Brad Gushue’s memoir. It’s set for release in November and The Girls discuss what they think may be included in his book.

There are many stories from Lori who recently coached ancillary players at “The Battle” between teams Homan and Team Jacobs in Port Elgin, which included a camp for 80 participants. 

Sportsnet has announced who will be in the broadcast and streaming booths for this season’s Grand Slam coverage, and the girls discuss who will be filling those coveted roles. 

Lori and Mary also revisit the new rule of four players that the World Curling Federation introduced this season, and how Alberta, Nova Scotia and B.C. will not be enforcing it.  

Lastly, The Girls discuss which teams have caught their eye so far this curling season.
