Scottish Olympic legend adds a new project
Eve Muirhead, OBE, launched her own curling academy today.
In a news release, Muirhead Curling was described as “dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of curlers, providing world-class coaching, insight, and expertise to players of all skill levels in the UK and beyond.”
The Olympic and world champion has been busy since she retired from high-performance competition in the summer of 2022.
She has served as a chef de mission for multiple Team GBs, is coaching Team James Craik on behalf of British Curling, serves on the World Curling athlete commission and has lent her powerful voice to recent threats against curling facility closures in Scotland.
She also makes an unprecedented fourth appearance in the 2025 Curling Cares fundraising calendar.
“Curling has always been my passion,” said Muirhead.
“Growing up, I followed in my family’s footsteps, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to achieve success on the European, World, and Olympic stages. Now, with Muirhead Curling, I’m excited to give back to this sport that has given me so much.
“Our mission is to pass down my knowledge, preserve the rich traditions of curling, and help players unlock their full potential—whether they’re just starting out or looking to elevate their game.
“Curling is such a wonderful, inclusive sport that enriches lives and communities and helps a healthy lifestyle. I want to do my bit to make sure it grows and thrives for future generations of players.”
The new entity has received the support of Scottish Curling.
“Eve’s unparalleled experience—marked by her Olympic, World, and European medals—is complemented by her deep passion for nurturing talent and her commitment to helping others reach their full potential,” said Vincent Bryson, Scottish Curling CEO.
“Through Muirhead Curling, aspiring curlers will have access to top-tier coaching, mentorship, and unique insights only someone of Eve’s calibre can offer.
“We are incredibly proud to support her in this venture, and we believe Muirhead Curling will become a cornerstone of curling development, both in Scotland and worldwide.”
Muirhead Curling is committed to fostering growth in curling by offering structured coaching, educational programmes and safe resources both on and off the ice.
The academy is for players of all ages and experience levels, aiming to create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages learning, development, and passion for the sport.
